This site is dedicated to the yogic masters of the Himalayas and the Ascended Masters. Information on this site may be accessed and shared with credit given to any authors along with a reference to this website http://gurudevi.com/ .  Gurudevi; guru means spiritual teacher; devi means ma/female. My spiritual name is Satguru Shri Mahashaktiananda. I work and study with the unascended and ascended Masters; Angels of Light and the Elemental Kingdom. My personal spiritual guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, is a great inspiration to all who tune in with him. The lineage of gurus which I am from includes both male and female teachers of the Great Brotherhood of Light.  I began my spiritual journey as far back as my earliest memories of childhood. Growing up in the western State of Idaho, I found the Methodist Church offered me the opportunity to sing in choir as a soloist, and also play in the Bell Choir. I lived with my father and my grandma. I was a Girl Scout. I did well at school, while music and art were my favorite pastimes. In 1968, I moved from Idaho to live with my mother in British Columbia, Canada. She invited me for the summer, but the opportunity to continue my schooling in Canada became a reality. I spent that first summer living in a beachfront home, swimming, sailing, singing and playing guitar around the beach campfire, and doing plenty of studying to prepare for the next school year. This included learning the basics of the French language in order to be able to enroll in school. I did manage to skip a grade when I was first enrolled in High School, and was soon entered into a private school for intensive academic learning. The school had only 10 students with professional teachers who were brought in for specific subjects. One of my art teachers was flown in from another Province to personally instruct me. I first began teaching meditation and yoga to students when I was in High School and have continued teaching as a public service when the opportunity was given. During my schooling years, I worked as an assistant Librarian at the University of British Columbia. I married and practiced Midwifery. I was graced with five children, and now grandchildren. While a mother of two young children, I cared for children at The Summit University in Pasadena, California in the Montessori Method in daycare. My husband and I were students of the Ascended Masters. We had previously been students of Self-Realization Fellowship founded by Paramahansa Yogananda. We assisted my mother in 1969 in developing and starting an SRF Temple in West Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. This was the first SRF Temple in Canada. The Shakti Ananda Yoga technique is my offering. It began with simple yoga postures, diet; cleansing kriyas, and devotional meditation techniques. Later, I was asked to bring the teachings of the Unascended and Ascended Masters together. This is a life project which brings me new revelations and unending joy.

The enlightened masters have delivered the teachings throughout the ages for true seekers to benefit from. Our soul has a sacred relationship with our spiritual teachers, our personal guru and with God as Father and Mother. The path of yoga is meant to be practiced as a devotional experience in loving God and Goddess in all creation. One who practices yoga is called a yogi or yogini; male or female. A spiritual teacher may be called gurudev or gurudevi.  > About Gurudevi and Lineage

I am forever grateful to my personal guru, Premavatar Paramahansa Yogananda, and the Ascended Masters who have assisted me. I am blessed to have been graced with the opportunity to learn about the Royal Path of Yoga. Wherever we are, is where we should blossom.

Yoga is a Lifestyle

The spiritual path is about dedicating oneself to the highest purpose and fulfilling your own personal destiny. Each of us has a distinct and unique life plan which, when revealed to us, can unfold much more quickly when we are in tune. The Divine Creator knows what is best for us, and when we walk the spiritual path our soul finally arrives at feeling complete and happy. An abundance of goodness and blessings begin to flow to you when you surrender yourself to the Almighty One.

This site is intended to provide you with a deeper understanding of what it truly means to walk the spiritual path and how to go about accomplishing this for yourself. The lifestyle of a yogi/yogini can be you. Yoga study is about the health of the physical body and the union of the self with the Almighty One.

“May God bless you, and may you be forever free in the light of love and forgiveness.”
