Satguru Shri Mahashaktiananda
Welcome. This site is dedicated to the yogic masters of the Himalayas. My personal guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, is a great inspiration to all who tune in with him. I am originally from the state of Idaho in the United States, but finished my schooling in British Columbia, Canada. I have been practicing yoga since childhood. I have since moved back to the United States and continue teaching yoga. The lineage of gurus which I am from includes both male and female masters mainly of the Himalayas. They are part of the Great Brotherhood of Light; ascended and unascended.
The enlightened masters have delivered the teachings throughout the ages for true seekers to benefit from. Our soul has a sacred relationship with our spiritual teachers, our personal guru and with God as Father and Mother. The path of yoga is meant to be practiced as a devotional experience in loving God and the Goddess in all manifestions. In the teachings of yoga a student is a yogi or yogini; man or woman. As spiritual teachers they are called gurudev or gurudevi.
I am grateful to my personal guru, Premavatar Paramahansa Yogananda, and other great masters who have assisted me. It is a blessing to practice and teach yoga. Wherever we are, is where we should blossom. God is everywhere.
Yoga is a Lifestyle
The spiritual path is about dedicating oneself to the highest purpose and fulfilling your own personal destiny. Each of us has a distinct and unique life plan which, when revealed to us, can unfold much more quickly when we are in tune with God’s will in our life. God knows what is best for us. That is why we walk the spiritual path and pursue our Divine destiny. It is in this lifestyle, that souls finally arrive at feeling complete and happy. An abundance of goodness and blessings begin to flow from God to you, when you surrender yourself to the Almighty One.
This site is intended to provide you with a deeper understanding of what it truly means to walk the spiritual path and how to go about accomplishing this for yourself. The lifestyle of a yogi/yogini can be you. Yoga study is about the health of the physical body and the union of the self with God/Goddess.
Yoga is not a religion. It is a science of religion. Yoga can compliment any faith and belief. And how one practices yoga is a completely personal experience. Yoga is about union with God. I developed the technique of Shakti Ananda Yoga to represent the teachings of the ancient Himalayan Masters. Yoga is, in truth, a spiritual study and way of life. I enjoy teaching yoga to students directly one-on-one or in groups. I have been practicing and teaching yoga most of my life. Since moving to the remote town of Emmett, Idaho in 2004, I have taught yoga in the community. Anyone who has an interest in yoga is welcome.
